transparency
methodology
the best defence against a claim of bias is that anyone can redo our calculations. here is how we work.
completeness
a non-partisan comparison only holds up if it covers every authorized party and every candidacy in a riding — not only the parties represented in the National Assembly. an incomplete riding is never published without a banner saying so.
symmetry of treatment
the same grid of themes for all parties. a party with no position on a theme shows “no position published” — never a blank cell, never an omitted theme.
zero invented data
no position, no status, no quotation without a verifiable source: the exact address, the date consulted, the author. until the real content is entered, the screens carry data marked “example — unverified”.
neutrality
the site describes, it does not judge. no party score, no ranking, no evaluative wording. the electoral compass situates your position relative to the parties but does not rank them and recommends no vote; its calculation happens entirely in your browser and nothing from it is kept.
compass — how the parties are situated
the parties’ positions on the issues will be derived from their official platforms, sourced and verifiable — never from an editorial judgment. the choice of issues and the wording of the statements will be published here. it is you who weigh your own issues.
